The decay in the quality of education is a pressing concern for Akowien. He links the rise of criminal activities and internet fraudsters to the deteriorating educational standards. Akowien advocates for the redistribution of libraries to state schools, equipping them with state-of-the-art facilities, and fostering a reading culture through competitions and scholarship rewards. While acknowledging the commendable work being done in collaboration with Julius Berger, Akowien emphasizes the need for further infrastructure development. “Existing roads need to be properly fixed, and new roads should be opened up for the easy movement of commodities and people,” he advises.
