Ewu Kingdom, Delta State, – The Ewu Kingdom in Delta State is resounding with jubilation and relief following the formal ratification of HRM Clement Oghenerukevwe Ikolo’s appointment as the Ovie of Ewu Kingdom by the Delta State Executive Council. This momentous achievement comes after a prolonged period of uncertainty marked by a power crisis instigated by certain people, who had sought to create panic and chaos within the traditionally peaceful Ewu Kingdom.
These mischief makers had not only opposed the rightful appointment of HRM Clement Oghenerukevwe Ikolo but had also mobilized segments of the community a handful of 8 persons to protest against the state government’s ratification. Their intentions, it is alleged, included plans to disrupt and desecrate the revered stool of the Ovie.
The Ewu Kingdom, known for its harmonious coexistence and vibrant community spirit, is now revelling in the approval of HRM Clement Oghenerukevwe Ikolo as their rightful traditional leader. This decision by the Delta State Executive Council has been hailed as a significant step towards restoring peace and stability in the area.
Community members have expressed their optimism that HRM Clement Oghenerukevwe Ikolo will provide steadfast leadership and guide them toward a brighter future.
In addition to celebrating HRM Ikolo’s ratification, heartfelt congratulations have been extended to the Ahwavwa Kingmakers family of the Kingdom and the leaders of thought in the region. The transition process leading to the installation of HRM Ikolo has been characterized as meticulously orchestrated and well-guided, ensuring a peaceful and seamless transition of power.
Community leaders have called upon the people of Ewu to rise above divisive factors and the influence of those they describe as “disgruntled and unbridled elements” within and outside the clan. These elements, it is believed, may not have been satisfied with the emergence of the new Ovie. Community leaders have urged them to support unity, progress, and the greater good of the Ewu community.
“Ewu-Urhobo needs peace, Ughelli South Local Government needs peace, and the state needs peace,” emphasized one community leader. The community leaders strongly advocated for the unwavering support of HRM Clement Oghenerukevwe Ikolo, whom they believe is anointed by God to rule over them.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) administration in the state, led by Governor Sheriff Oborewhori, has been commended for its role in ensuring a “relatively peaceful” transition. Community leaders are now eagerly awaiting the coronation and the formal issuance of the staff of office to the new Ovie.
In closing, community leaders reiterated the importance of rallying behind HRM Clement Oghenerukevwe Ikolo, the Urhukpe Ekade 1 of Ewu-Urhobo Kingdom, as he assumes his role as king. They emphasized that unity and support are essential to take the kingdom to greater heights and mentor the youth for a prosperous future.
As the Ewu Kingdom rejoices in the resolution of its power crisis and the ratification of HRM Clement Oghenerukevwe Ikolo as its Ovie, the community looks forward to a renewed era of peace, unity, and progress. Opposition is expected to subside, making way for a new era of growth and development in the Kingdom.
