The preceding are some of the major resolutions of the stirring committee of UYSF. These resolutions were reached in an online meeting held by the forum organisers. Rising from the steering committee meeting held this 12th day of September 2023 from 5 PM to 6 PM, the following resolutions were reached:
1. That we shall write to the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) to officially notify them of our formation (our aims and objectives); request a timetable for the forthcoming UPU Youth Wing election; and formally inform them of our forthcoming debate for contestants. A date will be fixed for adoption of the content of the letter to be sent.
2. That Urhobo Youth Stakeholders Forum will not anoint or endorse any particular contestant in the upcoming UPU Youth Wing election as we will allow the youths to choose their leader without fear of intimidation.
3. We shall initiate a debate within the shortest time for all contestants to come and tell the Urhobo Youth Stakeholders their plans for the Youth and based on their performance, people can decide who to elect. We shall reach out to all contestants and invite them appropriately.
4. On the issue of the leadership structure of UYSF, the stirring committee resolved that the steering committee will pilot the affairs of the group for now until a time deemed necessary to initiate a leadership structure.
5.. Ogheneruona Lauretta Etaluku-Ogbokor is appointed as the secretary of the stirring committee.
Recall that the Urhobo Youths Stakeholders Forum was officially formed on Thursday with over 172 members in attendance and within 48 hours the membership of this Forum has risen to over 600. The stirring committee used the medium of the meeting to call all well-meaning sons and daughters of the Urhobo nation to join hands with them as they chart a new course for the Urhobo Youths in particular and the Urhobo nation at large.
