I want to use this medium to extend my warm congratulations to the Governor-Elect of Delta State, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori on his Victory at the polls of the just concluded election. However, this press statement is issued to sound a call to order.
This call has become necessary following the seemingly unending Social media battles from across divide and counter publications in this regard.
I want to remind the State actors to remember that infightings and wranglings within are of no good to the entire house. The State must take a cue from the PDP at the national level and see how weakened the party has become with this negative energy. It will be unfortunate to repeat such a feat at the local government level.
Rather than dividing the party or taking out vendettas against the party members, leaders should be looking at healing from the wounds and making progress.
A case in point is The recent wanton suspension of party members on the account of anti-party activities with wild claims of the accusations lacking proof. While I do not want to bore the press with the details in that regard, my plea is that stakeholders should come together and Intervene before it leads to unamenable cracks in the party.
After elections come governance. Now that the elections are over, the party needs to be magnanimous in victory and reach out for peace and progress to reign. Only in peace can progress be achieved.
I call on all parties involved to call their media boys and girls to put the matter to rest and look inwards for an amicable settlement.
